Landman Season 3 is officially in production in Fort Worth, Texas.

The Paramount+ drama about the Texas oil business has promoted four recurring players to full-time cast and added Lioness star Michael Kelly as a series regular, meaning contracted as a central cast member. Cameras started rolling on 24 September, according to cast posts and trade reports Variety.

The four step-ups cover very different corners of the story. Colm Feore, who plays lawyer Nate, becomes a regular alongside Mustafa Speaks, who plays Boss. Bobbi Salvor Menuez, who plays Paigyn, and Francesca Xuereb, who plays Cheyenne, have also been promoted.

All four appeared in earlier episodes in smaller roles. The move puts them on the main call sheet for the new season. It also keeps their storylines inside the production centre in Fort Worth for the shoot.

Kelly joins as a new series regular. He is best known to Paramount+ viewers as a star of Lioness, Taylor Sheridan’s spy drama. His Landman character has not yet been detailed in the production announcement Variety.

Billy Bob Thornton returns to lead the cast as Tommy Norris, the fixer who sorts deals, disputes and disasters on the oil patch. He is joined by Demi Moore, Andy Garcia, Ali Larter, Sam Elliott, Jacob Lofland, Michelle Randolph, Paulina Chávez, Kayla Wallace, Mark Collie and James Jordan.

Season 2 ended with a rupture. Tommy was fired by Cami, played by Moore, as head of M-Tex. That leaves the new season with a clear starting point: an out-of-work landman and a company under new control.

The renewal came fast. Paramount+ ordered a third season in December 2025, shortly after Season 2 launched. The series then averaged more than 14 million viewers per episode across the first five weeks of 2026, according to Nielsen multiplatform data cited by Variety.

Landman was co-created by Sheridan with Christian Wallace. It is produced by Paramount Television Studios, 101 Studios and Bosque Ranch Productions. It streams on Paramount+.

For viewers, this means more time with familiar faces. James Jordan was among the cast members who flagged the start of filming on Instagram, while Speaks shared behind-the-scenes shots of his return to set.
