Epic Games Store gives away System Shock 2 remaster and three more games
Epic Games Store is giving away System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster and Buried Stars free to claim until 8 October 2026. Claim either game before the deadline and it stays in your library to keep and play later. The offer is part of the store's weekly free games programme on PC and mobile.
First up is System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster. Made by Nightdive Studios, it is an updated version of the 1999 first-person shooter with role-playing elements, a game where shooting is mixed with upgrades and exploration. It adds refreshed presentation, widescreen support and cross-play co-op, which lets people play together across different systems. The store lists it at US$29.99, reduced by 100% to free until 10:00 AM on 8 October 2026. Epic Games Store
The second free game is Buried Stars. It is a mystery adventure set around a survival audition show, a televised contest in which performers compete to stay in. Epic lists it as free now through 10:00 AM on 8 October. Epic Games Store
Two more games follow after that. From 8 October, Out of Sight and TerraScape will be free to claim until 15 October, according to Video Games Chronicle. Out of Sight is a horror puzzle adventure about Sophie, a blind girl trying to escape from a haunted mansion. TerraScape is a medieval city-building puzzle game about placing buildings to construct kingdoms across floating islands.
Epic says it gives users a free game every week. The storefront, the shop app where players buy and collect games, refreshes its free selection every Thursday on PC and mobile. Its mobile app is available globally on Android and in supported regions on iPhone and iPad.
What makes this stand out is range. One pair brings space horror and a show-business mystery. The next brings a haunted-house escape and a calm builder. For players filling their shelves with favourites, this means four very different games to collect at no cost in October.
