Paul McCartney Confirms He Sang Beatles Hit at Swift-Kelce Wedding

Paul McCartney has confirmed he sang "I Want to Hold Your Hand" at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding after Swift personally asked him to perform.
He shared the story on the Oct. 2 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, three months after the ceremony. Billboard reported his comments on Oct. 3.
McCartney said the song choice was Swift's. She asked for the 1964 Beatles track, a former No. 1 hit, for the wedding performance. He agreed, then made a suggestion of his own.
He asked Swift to sing it to Kelce. McCartney told Kimmel he wanted the moment to be directed at the groom, with Swift singing along during the performance.
The wedding reception was held on July 3 at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The arena was turned into a garden setting for the ceremony, with the couple writing their own vows, according to guests who spoke to Reuters.
Security was tight around the celebrations. Actor Adam Sandler officiated the ceremony, Rolling Stone reported.
McCartney, 84, was not the only surprise on the bill. Stevie Nicks also performed at the wedding alongside McCartney, according to Billboard's Pop Shop podcast. For McCartney, it was a rare outing for the song. Rolling Stone reported it was his first live performance of "I Want to Hold Your Hand" since 1964.
Kelce later called the wedding "perfect" and the best night of his life. Kylie Kelce, his sister-in-law, described the day as magical.
What makes this stand out is the personal link. It was not a booked festival slot or an awards show duet. It was a request from the bride, answered with a 60-year-old song sung directly to the groom.
