Carly Pearce will join Riley Green's team as a mentor on The Voice from 6 October.

Green is a rookie coach on the American singing programme, where star coaches pick teams of singers and guide them through performances and public votes. He has called on Pearce to help him prepare his team.

A mentor is the extra adviser who works beside the coach in rehearsals, running through songs, offering notes and helping singers familiarise themselves with the studio and the stage. Pearce will do that job for Team Green. Viewers will see her work in the episodes airing 12-13, 19 and 26 October, as reported by Billboard. That is four shows across three weeks in October.

Green came to the programme as a coach for Season 30, according to NBC. NBC announced his appointment in May, ahead of the autumn run. It is his first season in one of the big red chairs.

The Season 30 coaching panel brings together Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson, Queen Latifah and Green, NBC has confirmed. Levine and Clarkson have coached on the show before. Green is learning the chair alongside Latifah this season.

NBC also lists Green to return as a coach for Season 31, which would give him back-to-back seasons on the programme. The listing points to continuity beyond his debut year. Viewers will see him build a team this autumn and then start again with a new group.

Pearce knows this job. In 2024 she served as a playoff adviser for coach Michael Bublé, helping his singers prepare for the playoff stage before the live shows. She knows Green well too. The pair recorded the duet "If I Don't Leave, I'm Gonna Stay."

For fans, this means a pairing that needs no introduction. Green gets support from someone who understands both the pressure of the show and his own style as a singer. Pearce returns to a programme she already knows, this time working with a different coach and a different team.
