Ted Lasso ends Season 4 with farewell, Chelsea offer and a new arrival

Ted Lasso closed its fourth season with "Being Alive," a 55-minute finale built around a farewell, a pregnancy and a job offer that could split Richmond apart.
The episode is Season 4, Episode 10, listed as the season finale. Apple TV gives its release date as 7 October 2026 with the logline "Big changes in bunches" and a 55-minute runtime Apple TV. Viewers in the United States could stream it on Tuesday evening ahead of that date Forbes.
It opens in mourning. The Richmond group gathers for a funeral reception for Mae Green, owner of the favourite Crown & Anchor pub, at the pub itself Deadline. Mae is played by Annette Badland. The Harrigan twins sing "The Parting Glass" in her honour.
That goodbye sets up the episode's two big turns. Roy Kent, played by Brett Goldstein, is offered the head coaching job at Chelsea. He tells the Diamond Dogs that Keeley, played by Juno Temple, is two months pregnant TVLine. The pregnancy was first revealed in Episode 9.
Ted, played by Jason Sudeikis, answers with a quiet gesture. He leaves Roy a going-away note that reads "You're gonna be a great dad" along with an army man Decider. Coach Beard, played by Brendan Hunt, shaves his head in the finale.
Family and Richmond regulars fill out the hour. Michelle, played by Andrea Anders, and Henry, played by Grant Feely, appear alongside Rebecca, played by Hannah Waddingham, and Higgins, played by Jeremy Swift. Beard's ex Jane, played by Phoebe Walsh, also returns. Alice Chilton, played by Tanya Reynolds, and Niamh Harrigan, played by Aisling Sharkey, feature in a season that has added a women's team storyline involving the Lady Greyhounds.
The finale follows a compressed run-in. Season 4 included a New Year's Eve bottle episode, meaning an episode staged largely in one place with the main cast, as Episode 6, and an Episode 8 titled "Follow the Anger." The episode setting up the finale included a six-week time jump.
For fans, this means a clean break and a set of open doors. Richmond loses its pub landlady, Roy faces a choice about Chelsea and fatherhood, and Ted steps back to let others lead.
