Tate McRae will release her new single “Housewife” on Oct. 15.

It is positioned as the first official release of her new era. She shared the news on social media with a short caption that read “Housewife. Out 10.15” followed by a diamond ring emoji, according to Billboard.

The cover image pairs a bold styling choice with an unusual prop. It shows McRae in a red bikini standing beside a stroller filled with cash. The stark combination of swimwear, baby gear and money gives the announcement its immediate talking point.

Her official website carries the same Oct. 15 date, according to her official website. The site invites listeners to pre-save the track on Spotify and to pre-add it on Apple Music. Those options store the single in a listener’s library so it appears as soon as it is available.

The single opens a new chapter after “So Close to What”, her third studio album. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, the US albums chart, in March 2025. That debut marked her first No. 1 on that albums list.

Its run on the singles side was broad. The album placed 11 tracks on the Billboard Hot 100, the US singles chart. “Sports Car” peaked at No. 16 on that chart. McRae then teamed with Morgan Wallen on “What I Want”. The collaboration debuted at No. 1 in May 2025 and gave her a first leader on the Hot 100. “Tit for Tat” added another high finish when it peaked at No. 3.

Live work has kept her in front of large crowds between releases. In August, she headlined Lollapalooza in Chicago. She closed that set with “Sports Car” and climbed into a bathtub filled with shimmering gold paint for the finale. The stunt closed a festival headline slot with a visual moment built for a big stage.

Industry recognition has followed the chart run. She was named Billboard’s Hitmaker recipient at the 2026 Billboard Women in Music ceremony. The honour followed a stretch that included a No. 1 album, a No. 1 single and further Top 20 entries on the Hot 100.

What makes this stand out is the framing around the title. A stroller usually signals domestic life. Here it is filled with cash. The ring emoji points in the same direction. None of that confirms the sound or subject of the song, which has not yet been heard.

For fans, this means the countdown is concrete. The title, artwork and date are public, and the pre-save is live ahead of Oct. 15.
