All eight episodes of Prime Video's Carrie are now streaming, closing with a finale titled 'AP Physics' and a fiery prom night. The episode delivers the season's reckoning in one large, catastrophic sequence. Details of that ending were outlined by the cast in an interview with Deadline. The full season is available at once. No weekly wait.

The series is an adaptation of Stephen King's 1974 debut horror novel, the book that first put his name on shelves. It centres on Carrie White, a misfit high-schooler who has spent her life hidden away inside her home. Summer H. Howell plays Carrie. Prime Video lists her in the central role on its official series page, via Amazon MGM Studios.

The screen version comes from Mike Flanagan, the filmmaker behind the adaptation. He writes and executive produces the series as showrunner, the head writer who guides story and production across a season. He also directs the series. Prime Video confirmed his triple role when it released first-look images, via Amazon MGM Studios.

Matthew Lillard stars as Principal Grayle, the head of Carrie's school. Amber Midthunder plays Miss Desjardin, the physical education teacher who works closely with the girls. Both performers discussed their characters' final scenes with Deadline. They said the fates written for Grayle and Desjardin depart from what happens in the book.

What makes this stand out is where that change points the story. Lillard and Midthunder said the altered endings heighten the tragedy around prom night. They said the choices also add to the guilt Carrie carries out of the finale.

Lillard shared another detail about how the season was built. He said Flanagan had all eight scripts written before production began. In series television, where later episodes are often still being written while early scenes are being filmed, that is uncommon. The cast could read the complete arc from the start. Eight episodes. One set path.

Prime Video had already flagged Carrie as a priority genre show by placing it in its 2026 San Diego Comic-Con programme, via Amazon MGM Studios. The convention showcase previewed the series before launch. For fans, this means the wait is done, and the whole first season is ready to stream.
