Kate Siegel steps into view in the finale of Prime Video's Carrie.

Variety reports the 2026 series runs for eight episodes and is now streaming on Prime Video Variety. Series creator Mike Flanagan, the writer-director who developed the show for television, holds Siegel's character back from the screen for almost the whole run. She is heard only as a narrator across the first seven episodes. Then she appears. Her on-screen debut comes in episode eight.

Amazon MGM Studios lists Carrie as an Original Series, meaning a programme made for Prime Video, with a launch date of 7 October 2026 Amazon MGM Studios. That listing puts the complete eight-episode season online as of 8 October 2026. Viewers can start at episode one and watch straight through to the reveal.

Adelaide arrives with a clear job in the story. She is presented as seemingly the headmistress of a home for gifted young women, a school-like place for girls with unusual abilities. She is also the person behind the camera in the season's talking-head interviews, short segments where subjects speak straight to the lens. Through those interviews she gathers accounts from survivors of the prom night massacre. The audience hears her voice asking the questions long before it learns her face.

Summer H. Howell plays Carrie White, the schoolgirl at the centre of the story. Thalia Dudek plays Emaline. Emaline is described as Carrie's astral-projecting enabler, someone who helps Carrie project her presence outside her own body. That bond runs through the season alongside Adelaide's investigation.

Spoilers for the ending follow. Margaret survives her showdown with Carrie. She is then killed by Adelaide, according to The Fresno Bee The Fresno Bee. The twist gives Siegel's newly seen character a direct role in the final deaths. It lands in her very first on-screen scene.

Siegel and Flanagan have worked together for years. The two are married. Siegel previously starred in Flanagan's film adaptations of Gerald's Game and The Life of Chuck.

Siegel told Variety that viewers should ask why Adelaide is filming the interviews and who she is telling the story to. For fans watching from the start, that question turns every earlier voice-over into a clue to replay.
