Forza Horizon 6 sets PS5 release for 26 January alongside first expansion

Playground Games has set an announced release date of 26 January for Forza Horizon 6 on PlayStation 5.
Xbox confirmed the PS5 version will launch in January alongside the game's first expansion, Video Games Chronicle reported on 8 October 2026. The announcement gives PlayStation players a firm date after months with only a window to go on.
The first expansion has an announced release date of 21 January, five days before the PS5 base game. Xbox has not detailed the content of that expansion in the announcement. The timing means the add-on, a paid extra that adds new areas or cars to the main game, will be available at or just before the PS5 launch.
The date is a shift from earlier plans. The PS5 version was previously announced as arriving in 2026. In September, Playground Games said the port was still due to release for PS5 this year. The new January date moves that plan into the new year.
Forza Horizon 6 is set in Japan. The open-world driving series lets players explore a large map, enter races and collect cars, and this entry leans into Japanese roads and landscapes. The game will feature more than 550 real-world cars at launch, according to its Xbox store listing.
Players who pre-order the Premium Edition can play up to five days early. That edition bundles the full game with two Premium Expansions, the Italian Passion Car Pack, the Time Attack Car Pack and the Car Pass, a bundle that adds further vehicles over time, according to Xbox. Early access of this kind lets buyers start before the standard release date, but does not change what is in the game.
For fans, this means the wait is now measured in weeks with a clear order. Expansion first on 21 January, then the PS5 version on 26 January, with an early-start option for Premium Edition pre-orders.
