Dave the Diver is getting one last dive, and it leads to another universe.

Mintrocket announced a crossover with Subnautica 2 as the final downloadable content, an extra pack released after launch, for Dave the Diver. The reveal came at the Triple-i Showcase on 8 October 2026, according to Eurogamer.

It will be free. The pack, titled DAVE THE DIVER - Subnautica Crossover DLC, is set for release in early 2027 and is available to wishlist on Steam now. Wishlist here means players can flag the page to get a notification on release. It was developed in collaboration with Unknown Worlds, the studio behind Subnautica 2.

The story sends Dave and his sushi-chef partner Bancho to a new dimension to find new species and new sushi recipes. That destination is Proteus, the ocean moon from Subnautica 2. The crossover also brings over the Leviathan, the giant creature class that stalks Subnautica's deep water.

The Triple-i Initiative describes itself as a showcase made by studios, for players, with no hosts and no adverts. Its site lists the crossover among its showcased titles, and the current edition runs as 45 minutes of back-to-back trailers with world premieres and release dates, according to the Triple-i Initiative.

What makes this stand out is the pairing. Dave the Diver is a day-and-night loop of daytime spearfishing and nighttime sushi-restaurant management. Subnautica 2 is a large-scale survival game set almost entirely underwater. Putting Dave and Bancho on Proteus joins a cosy management game to a survival world without changing what either game is.

For fans, this means a clear endpoint. Mintrocket has called this Dave the Diver's final DLC. After early 2027, the Blue Hole story closes with a trip off-world.
