Nintendo's Switch 2 has sold more than 23 million units since its launch in June 2025, Nintendo of America president Devon Pritchard said in an interview published on 9 October, reported by Variety.

Pritchard leads the American arm of the Japanese organisation as president and chief operating officer. He took over from Doug Bowser in January.

Call of Duty is coming back. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will launch on Switch 2 this autumn alongside the Xbox and PlayStation versions. It is the franchise's return to Nintendo consoles for the first time in more than a decade.

Another big third-party title remains undecided. Grand Theft Auto VI is due out in November. Asked about a possible Switch 2 version, Pritchard said that is a conversation for Take-Two and Rockstar, with nothing to announce.

Zelda is the other centre of attention. Nintendo plans to mark the 40th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda with a remake, meaning a rebuilt version, of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The celebration will also include a Zelda-inspired live concert series for fans of the long-running favourite adventure series.

The screen version is close too. The live-action Legend of Zelda film, made in collaboration with Sony, is set to debut next April, according to Variety. Pritchard has previously described Nintendo as just at the start of a multiyear master plan for its characters and worlds, in an earlier interview reported by Variety.

For fans, this means a busy few months. A proven console base, a returning shooter franchise, a concert tour and a film are lining up at once. The company is using games, music and film together rather than treating each as separate.
