Maddie Hasson Joins Julia Garner in Apple TV Thriller Guilty Creatures

Maddie Hasson has joined Julia Garner in Guilty Creatures, Apple TV's thriller drama about faith, romance and murder.
Hasson will be a series regular, meaning she joins the main cast for the run of the series, opposite Garner. The casting was reported by Deadline on 12 October 2026. It rounds out the central line-up around Garner as the project moves through casting.
She joins Lewis Pullman, who was previously announced alongside Garner. Garner and Pullman are believed to play the lovers at the heart of the story, according to the same report. That story centres on two young people, both unfaithful in marriage yet God-fearing, who live for 18 years as killers bound by romance and a murder.
Short version: love and guilt. Long version: almost two decades of it.
The series is adapted for the screen by Sarah DeLappe from Mikita Brottman's book Guilty Creatures: Sex, God, and Murder in Tallahassee, Florida. It comes from director Craig Gillespie with Stuart Zicherman as showrunner, the lead writer-producer in day-to-day charge of a series. Tomorrow Studios is the studio behind the project.
Tomorrow Studios, an ITV Studios partner, is producing the series. It is developed through first-look deals, arrangements that give a studio first refusal on new ideas from a production company, with Garner's Alma Margo and Gillespie's Fortunate Jack Productions. Those deals keep star and director connected to how the show is built.
In television, this is the familiar order of things. Leads are set first. Other regulars follow. Once the core cast is in place, production can lock schedules, crew and shooting blocks around them.
Viewers may know Hasson from Netflix's spy drama The Recruit, where she was also a series regular. She also led Bone Lake, a survival thriller that puts its characters through a fight to stay alive. She is represented by UTA, Brillstein Entertainment Partners and Yorn Levine Barnes et al.
For fans, this means the faces of the story are locking into place. A book about sex, faith and killing in Florida now has its television cast. More casting details and a transmission date will usually follow once the main ensemble is set.
