Doechii has restarted her Swamp Sessions with a new track called “Bombs”, shared on 12 October 2026. The announcement came on Instagram, where she posted the release as “BOMBS | Swamp Session” and added the caption “SESSIONS ARE BACKKK”. The message was short. The intent was clear: the series is back.

The song arrived with a video directed by Doechii herself, according to Pitchfork. That means she oversaw the visual side as well as the music, rather than handing the shoot to another director. She shared the clip to Instagram on the same day, keeping the rollout immediate and direct.

For anyone new to the name, Swamp Sessions is Doechii’s informal release strand. Previous instalments were weekly snippets and freestyles, short and quickly cut vocal performances often recorded without full studio polish, posted to YouTube. Together, they built momentum toward Alligator Bites Never Heal, her 2024 mixtape. A mixtape, in industry terms, is a shorter, looser collection than a studio album, and often a place to test ideas.

That process has already produced finished records. “Nissan Altima” and “Catfish” both began as Swamp Sessions entries before they were included on Alligator Bites Never Heal. In other words, what starts as a sketch can end up on the official tracklist.

Alongside “Bombs”, Doechii shared a handwritten letter to fans reflecting on her recent years. She wrote that she spent the past few years relearning hip-hop as a student. That study, she said, covered its language, its history and its roots.

She also described what drives her now. Her mission, she wrote, is to see Black womanhood exist at the centre of hip-hop and pop. Her devotion, she added, is to become the artist she wished had existed while she was growing up, and the dark-skin icon her younger self wanted to see.

What makes this stand out is the format. There is no long wait, no teaser campaign stretching over weeks. A song appears, a video follows, and a note explains the thinking. For fans, this means the new phase can be followed in real time, entry by entry. The Instagram post carries the date 12 October 2026.
