Broadway just had its biggest week of the fall, and two plays that have not officially opened yet sold every seat.

The 29 productions on Broadway took in $35,292,434 for the week ending October 11, 2026, up 27% from the previous week, with total attendance of 248,496, up about 10%, Deadline reported, citing figures from the Broadway League. The League publishes the official weekly tallies of grosses, meaning total money from ticket sales, and attendance for Broadway in New York.

Hamilton was the week's top-earning show. The musical at the Richard Rodgers Theatre grossed $3,090,634, with original cast member Christopher Jackson back in the company for the week. The average paid ticket was $287.50, according to BroadwayWorld box-office data.

Close behind was a newcomer. Other Desert Cities grossed $2,157,355 and sold out all eight previews at the Hudson Theatre. Previews are performances held before the official opening night. The play stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Ed Harris, Allison Janney, Joe Keery and Lily Rabe. Its average ticket was $276.87.

The other sold-out newcomer was A Few Good Men. The revival grossed $555,367 for its first three previews. Every seat was full.

A Few Good Men began performances October 8 at the Vivian Beaumont Theater, Playbill lists. It is playing a 13-week limited engagement, meaning a run with a set closing date rather than an open-ended run, and stars Bradley Whitford.

What makes this stand out is the timing. Both sold-out plays are still in previews, when a show is usually finding its footing and building word of mouth. This time they helped lift the whole street, pushing the weekly total well above the $27.7 million reported for the 28 shows playing the week before.
