BTS's fifth studio album ARIRANG has passed 5 billion streams on Spotify, BigHit Music announced on 14 October.

The label said the album is the most-streamed album released in 2026 on Spotify, sitting around 2 billion streams ahead of its nearest rival. The gap is wide. Music Business Worldwide reported the figures from the announcement.

BigHit Music named the second-placed album as you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, the third studio album by Olivia Rodrigo, released in June. It said two other 2026 albums, The Romantic by Bruno Mars and Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally by Harry Styles, had each generated roughly 1 billion to 2 billion Spotify streams.

The total for ARIRANG is spread across the full tracklist. BigHit Music said all 14 tracks have each passed 200 million Spotify streams. Lead single SWIM is approaching 1 billion streams on its own.

ARIRANG was released on 20 March. BigHit Music said it generated more than 110 million Spotify streams on its first day. On that day, its 14 tracks took the top 14 positions on Spotify's Daily Top Songs Global chart, the platform's daily ranking of its most-played songs worldwide, with SWIM at No. 1 on approximately 14 million streams.

The album also spent three consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, the United States chart that ranks albums by sales and streaming activity. BigHit Music said it was the first album by a group to spend three consecutive weeks at No. 1 there since Babel by Mumford & Sons in 2012.

What makes this stand out is the breadth. Many albums reach a large cumulative total through one or two dominant songs. Here, the label's numbers point to listening across all 14 tracks, with every song past 200 million plays.
