Rachel Chinouriri will release her second album, 'I Think I Spoke Too Soon', on Oct. 16 via Parlophone, the record label issuing the album. Billboard set out the title, label and date in an interview published Oct. 14.

The announcement came two days before release. The date is confirmed.

Chinouriri is a 27-year-old British-Zimbabwean artist. She released her full-length debut album, 'What a Devastating Turn of Events', in 2024, so the new record arrives a little over two years later. A debut album is an artist's first full-length collection, while a second album is the next full collection.

She spoke about the new music after performing in late August at Daisy Chain Fields. That is the festival organised by Olivia Rodrigo in Irvine, California.

The festival slot follows further live invitations. Chinouriri opened for Sabrina Carpenter two years earlier. Gracie Abrams has since offered her an arena tour support slot, which means playing as the opening act before the headliner each night. An arena slot puts an opening act in front of crowds of thousands.

She has also made her debut on Saturday Night Live U.K. That means a first appearance on the British edition of the show. The television appearance sits alongside festival sets and tour openings that have put her in front of new audiences.

Her summer included a performance at SXSW London 2026 on June 3. The previous autumn, she spoke with Billboard at All Things Go NYC in 2025, where she discussed early support from Adele. All Things Go is a live music event where artists perform and take part in interviews.

Rodrigo is on the road herself this autumn. She announced "The Unraveled Tour" in April, Variety reported, including an Oct. 3 date at Capital One Arena in Washington, DC. Listings on Rodrigo's official tour page show an Oct. 12 concert at United Center in Chicago with special guest Wolf Alice and an Oct. 15 concert at TD Garden in Boston, both marked as sold out. Sold out means the tickets listed for sale are no longer available.

For fans, this means a new record lands in the middle of a busy live season. Listeners will be able to hear the full collection from Oct. 16. Chinouriri arrives with her own album to introduce while continuing to appear on large festival and arena stages.
