More than 40 outfits worn by C.Z. Guest go on display in Atlanta on Thursday.

The show is titled 'C.Z. Guest: Portrait of an American Style Icon' and is held at the SCAD Fash Museum of Fashion + Film in Atlanta, WWD. More than 40 complete outfits are included. That is a full wardrobe, not a handful of highlights.

The exhibition runs from Thursday, Oct. 15 through Sunday, Feb. 21, 2027, SCAD. It is presented by Max Mara. It was curated in collaboration with Stefano Tonchi.

Most of the clothes were donated by Guest's daughter Cornelia. SCAD Fash preserves them as part of its permanent archive.

So who was Guest? SCAD Fash describes the show as recounting the life and influence of a defining style arbiter of the 20th century. Guest is listed by the museum as one of Truman Capote's famous Swans, his inner circle of wealthy, fashionable women, and as a modern muse to artists Salvador Dalí and Diego Rivera, SCAD FASH.

What makes this stand out is the source. These are Guest's own clothes, kept and then handed over by her family. For visitors, that means evening dress, daywear and sporting clothes seen together, as one person wore them.

The museum will also link past and present on screen. SCAD FASH will host 'Indulge in the unforgettable fashions of C.Z. Guest and Emily in Paris' on Tuesday, Nov. 10 from 6-8 p.m. The evening pairs Guest's wardrobe with looks associated with Emily in Paris.
