Powderfinger adds eight shows to 2027 reunion tour after presale rush

Powderfinger has expanded its 2027 Australian reunion tour from 18 dates to 26 after early demand went beyond presale allocation, Billboard. The eight added shows stretch the run into November 2027.
Presales began on Wednesday, Oct. 14. That first presale drew massive demand and long queues, ABC News, prompting the band to add dates in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth. The next chance is close. The general on-sale starts on Monday, Oct. 19.
In Sydney, the expansion includes a fifth show at The Domain on October 6, 2027, The Music. In Perth, it includes a third show at Wellington Square. The itinerary also includes multiple dates at Cazalys Stadium in Cairns.
The shows will feature the full reunion lineup of Bernard Fanning, Ian Haug, Darren Middleton, John "JC" Collins and Jon Coghill. All five played together through the band's original run before stepping away from live work.
The 2027 concerts will be the band's first concerts in almost two decades. That long gap helps explain the rush on presale passwords, waiting rooms and queues this week.
The tour will look different from a standard stadium run. Powderfinger will play under a stadium-sized big top, a large tent structure set up for big crowds, in central city locations. A homegrown support cast will appear across the dates.
For fans, this means more options but no guarantee of an easy ticket. Extra shows in the four largest markets add capacity where demand was strongest. The Cairns dates point to a route that reaches well beyond the south-east capitals.
Anyone planning to buy should check the official tour listing for their city. With presales already tested and the general on-sale set for Oct. 19, the new Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth dates are now part of the same booking rush.
