Powderfinger's 2027 reunion tour has sold out all 26 dates, and the band says it will add one more run of shows. Billboard reported on October 21, 2026 that upwards of 300,000 tickets were snapped up after the general public sale, according to representatives of the band.

The tour's sales opened in two stages. Pre-sales began on Wednesday, October 14, and the general public sale followed on the Monday after. Noise11 reported that all 26 shows sold out in six days, with more than 300,000 tickets sold.

Billboard reported that the sellout surpassed the public sale for the band's 2010 Sunsets Farewell Tour, which ran 34 dates across the country. Earlier in the month, the band had described demand as "off the charts" and promised to add more dates.

The shape of the tour has changed since it was first announced. The band initially planned 18 concerts across the country in September and October 2027. That grew to 26 dates running into November.

The reunion itself was confirmed on October 9, 2026, 16 years after the farewell tour. The Guardian reported that the band said it would tour from September 2027 but gave no venues at that point. Ticketmaster Australia now lists the shows in Brisbane, Cairns, Perth, Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne.

The classic lineup returns: Bernard Fanning on vocals, Ian Haug and Darren Middleton on guitars, John "JC" Collins on bass and Jon Coghill on drums. The shows will be staged in green spaces under a "big tent", with an all-Australian line-up of supporting acts.

The tour will also partner with Mission Australia, a charity that supports vulnerable people in Australia.

In a band statement reported by Billboard, Powderfinger said its team is locking in one final encore run to close out the 2027 reunion tour. The band said details will be shared once they are confirmed. No dates or cities for that run have been announced.

For fans who missed the public sale, the next step is the encore announcement. Each show needs a stage, a crew and a venue, so every extra date adds work for the people who build and run the tour. The band has not yet said when the encore dates will be released.
