007 First Light will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on 18 March 2027.

Developer and publisher IO Interactive confirmed the date, as reported by Eurogamer. The announcement gives Nintendo players a firm day to circle on the calendar. It also closes a short period of uncertainty around the port.

The Switch 2 edition was originally expected in summer. About a month before the 18 March 2027 date was announced, IO Interactive moved it to an unspecified date in March. The studio did not frame the shift as a major rethink. It described the extra time as room to polish the game for Nintendo hardware.

That work centres on optimisation and performance. In plain terms, that is getting the game to run smoothly and look sharp on Switch 2. IO Interactive said its development team will use the coming months to continue refining both areas.

Players have already had a chance to try it. IO Interactive brought hands-on builds of 007 First Light running on Nintendo hardware to gamescom and Tokyo Game Show. Hands-on builds are playable test versions shown to the public at events. The studio said player response to those demos was positive.

For fans waiting on Nintendo, this means the delay story is simple. The summer window slipped, a March window followed, and now there is an exact date.

The game itself is a fresh start for Bond. It depicts James Bond as a young recruit in MI6's training programme in an origin story. IO Interactive both develops and publishes the title, according to IO Interactive. That means the same studio made the game and sells it.

007 First Light has passed 4 million sales since release. That total covers the versions already out, ahead of the Switch 2 launch.

Pre-orders for a 007 First Light Deluxe Edition went live alongside the Switch 2 date announcement. A Deluxe Edition is a higher-priced version with extras. Here the extras are additional clothes and gadgets for Bond.

There is also a free bonus for signing up. Players who create an IOI Account unlock the "On Duty" outfit skin and "Gilded Wraith" weapon skin. Skins change how a character or weapon looks in the game.

Parents get clear guidance on content. The game is rated Teen by the ESRB, the ratings board used in North America. Its content descriptors list Violence, Blood, Suggestive Themes, Language and In-Game Purchases. The last label refers to optional paid extras offered inside the game.
