The Diplomat Season 4 Now Streaming as Kate Faces the President

The Diplomat Season 4 is now streaming on Netflix, and it puts diplomat Kate Wyler on a collision course with her own president.
Keri Russell returns as Kate Wyler, the US envoy in London. The new run picks up on the fallout of an assassination attempt on the US President on British soil, creator Debora Cahn told Deadline. That crisis shapes every negotiation. It also reshapes alliances in London and Washington.
The core cast is back around her. Rufus Sewell plays her husband Hal Wyler, who is Vice President of the United States in Season 4. Allison Janney plays President Grace Penn, with Bradley Whitford as Todd Penn, the First Gentleman, meaning the president's husband.
Ato Essandoh plays Stuart Hayford, Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy, effectively the second in command in London. Ali Ahn plays Eidra Park, the CIA London station chief, meaning the top US intelligence officer in the city.
Kate and President Penn go head to head this season, Netflix Tudum reports. Power runs through every scene. Private talks turn sharp.
Cahn said the season is organised around three couples at different phases of a relationship. Each couple faces a similar pressure. Each handles it differently, she told Deadline. The idea runs through both the marriages and the working partnerships.
The season also brings a change of prime minister in Britain. It includes the death of a male character, which Cahn described as a "terrible thing" in an interview with Deadline. Details were not disclosed. Whitford has also spoken about his arc as Todd Penn this season in a separate interview.
For new viewers, the story began with a hostile attack on a British vessel. That emergency sent Kate to the UK to take up a new senior role. The posting tested both her diplomatic skills and her marriage, according to Netflix.
Cahn, who devised and oversees the series, previously worked on Grey's Anatomy and Homeland. She discussed those credits and an Emmy nomination in a video interview with Deadline. The Diplomat remains her political drama built around embassy life, backroom deals and a marriage under strain.
For fans catching up, this means a direct continuation. Old tensions carry over. New episodes are available on Netflix now.
