Two ANC members killed while campaigning in South Africa

Two members of South Africa's African National Congress were shot dead on Thursday while campaigning door to door in Umgababa for local government elections. Three other people were injured in the shooting, EWN reported.
The killing was the second fatal attack on the ANC, the country's largest political party, in three days. Six members of the party have now been killed this week, The New York Times reported.
The earlier attack happened on Tuesday near Johannesburg. Four members of the ANC's youth league were killed, according to Channels TV. Police said a gunman opened fire on a group leaving a memorial service for a local politician, killing at least four people, the Associated Press reported.
That case has been handed to a special police unit for investigation. No further details about suspects in either shooting have been reported.
After the Umgababa shooting, the ANC in eThekwini called for political tolerance. The appeal followed the killing of the two members during door-to-door campaigning.
