Wardogs Season 2 tank exploit fixed after day-one shortcut

Some Wardogs players were driving tanks on the opening day of Season 2 without doing the grind.
Season 02, the latest season for the Early Access military shooter, launched on 15 October. Season 2 adds four new vehicles, including the T-72 A main battle tank, alongside changes to combat and progression IGN.
Tanks sit high on the Driver progression track. That is the experience system tied to driving, transport and supply work, which unlocks better vehicles as players level the role. In Season 1, Driver XP was among the slowest types of experience to earn.
Season 2 increased the speed of Driver XP gains. Combined with a bug, that let players climb the track far faster than intended, according to details reported by Eurogamer.
The shortcut was simple. Players drove just outside their headquarters, dropped off pallets, then returned to base to bank the XP. Repeat the loop. Climb the ranks. Unlock tanks on day one.
Bulkhead, the studio behind Wardogs, has already fixed it. Co-founder Howard Philpott said in a Wardogs Discord post: "We're holding our hands up and we got a few things wrong".
Developers pushed a backend update to fix the Driver XP progression bug. The same update removed the Lonestar cash and XP bonuses. Lonestar is the blue team in Wardogs, and Season 2 patch notes had listed a cash and XP win bonus for the faction.
That bonus was meant to help a struggling side. Lonestar loses more matches than the other teams. The plan to address that balance had been confirmed before the season.
Not everyone who used the loop will be punished. Technical designer Mark Tadros said only players who used the exploit to an extreme degree would receive 24-hour bans. Fewer than 1,000 players fell into that group.
What makes this stand out is how quickly it was spotted and closed. Season 2 was also billed as a stability and teamwork update, with improvements to squad coordination, vehicle handling and server stability, plus fixes for issues including a Humvee gunner facing the wrong way after entering and gunner fire desync.
