Jason Sudeikis says he "would like to" make Ted Lasso Seasons 5 and 6, but he does not yet know if they will happen.

The actor discussed the future of the Apple series on the podcast Talk Easy with Sam Fragoso, in comments reported by Deadline on 19 October 2026. He stopped short of promising anything. He also stopped short of closing the door.

Asked whether Apple, the platform behind the series, would be open to continuing, Sudeikis replied, "I would assume so." Asked directly whether more seasons will actually be made, he said, "I just don't know." He added that the show "takes a village," a nod to the large team of writers, performers and crew needed to put each run on screen.

That team is not yet at work on anything beyond the current return. Sudeikis said a writers' room, the small group that plots stories and writes scripts, has not been started for further seasons. A writers' room normally comes first, long before cameras roll and schedules are organised. Without it, there are no scripts, no shooting dates and no formal order to discuss.

The interview did not announce a renewal, a cancellation or a timetable. Sudeikis stressed he was not playing games with the answer. He told Fragoso he was not being coy about the lack of clarity, according to Variety. In short, interest is real and a decision is not.

The context is a show already in comeback mode. Sudeikis, Hannah Waddingham and Juno Temple discussed returning for Season 4 in a Hollywood Reporter cover story published on 22 July 2026, as detailed by The Hollywood Reporter. That interview looked ahead to the fourth chapter as the next step for the characters. Any talk of a fifth or sixth season would sit beyond that chapter, not instead of it.

For viewers, this means the path is easy to follow. Season 4 comes first. Anything after that would need a recommission, meaning a formal order for more episodes, plus time to assemble writers and align a busy ensemble. Sudeikis has said he is willing. The rest is still undecided.
