Rapper 50 Cent has posted a video of Don Roberts thanking him after Roberts posted bond in a case involving Rick Ross's son. The case is in Daytona Beach, and the charges are accusations that have not been decided in court.

Roberts, whose full name is Don Roberts III, was arrested on Oct. 16. He faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, which are offences that involve a weapon capable of causing serious harm. A judge set his bond at $50,000 on Oct. 21, according to Billboard.

Bond is money or a promise paid to the court so that a defendant can leave jail before trial. Roberts must wear an ankle monitor, a device that tracks his location, as a condition of his release, WFTV reported.

The alleged victim is William Roberts III, the son of Rick Ross.

50 Cent had taken an interest in the case before the bond was posted. On Oct. 20, he said Roberts would "be out tomorrow" and that he was sending attorney Drew Findling to help. WESH reported on Oct. 21 that 50 Cent had said he would help pay the bail.

In his post after the release, 50 Cent wrote, "I had a strong feeling this brother was innocent." Roberts, in the video, thanked him and said, "I'm out and I'm innocent."

Those statements are the view of the two men. The charges against Roberts remain allegations, and a court has not ruled on whether he committed the acts described in them.

The story has drawn attention because of the names involved. Rick Ross and 50 Cent are both established figures in hip-hop, and the arrest involves a family member of one of them. The legal process, including the conditions of Roberts's bond, will continue in the Daytona Beach court system.
