The Shipment map arrives in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 on Tuesday, 27 October, four days after the game launched on Friday, 23 October. Eurogamer reported the date, and Infinity Ward, the studio making the game, announced it in a blog post before launch.

Shipment is an old name for series fans. It first appeared in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare in 2007. It came back in Modern Warfare (2019), Modern Warfare 2 (2022) and Modern Warfare 3 (2023). This version is set on a Russian harbour, and the studio describes it as a small map.

The game launched with 20 multiplayer maps, which are the arenas where players face each other online. It also includes a brand-new campaign, the single-player story mode. A third mode, DMZ, is an extraction mode set in Hajin. In extraction modes, squads gather loot and try to escape with it before the match ends.

Modern Warfare 4 is available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC and Nintendo Switch 2. On PC, it can be bought through Battle.net and Steam, the two storefronts where players download and buy games. The game requires a separate purchase. It was not available on Game Pass, Microsoft's subscription service, at launch.

More content is already scheduled. Season One begins on 6 November, two weeks after launch. A season is a block of new maps, modes and rewards added to a live-service game, meaning a title that is sold and updated over time rather than finished at release.

For players who already own the game, the Shipment return adds one more map to the launch lineup. Season One follows on 6 November.
