Telltale's remastered edition of The Wolf Among Us launches on 29 October 2026, with discounts for the first two weeks.

The game is an updated re-release, or remaster, of Telltale's story adventure. In these games, players make choices that shape the plot, and the story is inspired by DC's Fables comic series, which follows fairy-tale characters living in New York City. The remaster includes all five episodes of the story.

The biggest visual change is the look itself. According to the Steam store page, the update adds improved lighting, updated animation and refined environments. Players can switch at any time between the remastered look and Noir Mode, a black-and-white presentation with a monochrome filter. Telltale describes Noir Mode as a way to see Fabletown as a classic detective film.

The extras are a long list. The package includes deleted and extended scenes, developer commentary, concept art and interviews. The developers also describe restored content and archival material about how the game was made.

The game will be available for PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store, and on PlayStation 5, according to Telltale's launch announcement. A physical version is planned from PM Studios, according to a post on the Telltale Games Facebook page.

The remaster is priced at US$25. Launch discounts run from 29 October to 12 November 2026, and they start and end at 6 a.m. Pacific Time. New players can get launch discounts of up to 50%, and digital owners of the game receive further discounts, according to Telltale's launch discount page.

Telltale has also addressed the original game. It said it will not remove the original The Wolf Among Us from storefronts. The remaster sits alongside it.

The remaster also has a link to what comes next. The Wolf Among Us 2 is scheduled for release in 2027, and GameSpot's review of the remaster reports that a player's progress in the remaster will affect how the story plays out in the sequel.

Content warnings are also part of the listing. The developers describe the game as containing nudity or sexual content, frequent violence or gore, and mature content in general. Parents and players who check those details before buying will find them on the store page.

For anyone who has played the original, the remaster offers a new way in. For anyone who has not, the launch discounts give a lower-cost first step into the story. The 29 October release date is the first date to note, and the 12 November end of the discount period is the second.
