Jennifer Lawrence has launched a haircare company called Mes, and she says it was not a response to trouble in Hollywood. Variety reported the launch on 27 October 2026, and the actor's reasons for starting it were the focus of her interview with The Cut.

Mes is what the company calls a biodesigned haircare brand. It sells three products: a repair mask, a restyling serum and a volumizing mist. Lawrence worked with an MIT-trained scientist to develop the formulas. "Biodesigned" is the brand's term for products built around biological science.

Lawrence told The Cut that the company was not a reaction to the uncertainty facing actors or to money worries. She made a joke of the idea. If she were concerned about money, she said, signing up for a big franchise would be the smarter way out. She also likened starting a company to get rich to jumping off a cruise ship. The Cut ran the interview as its October/November 2026 cover story, under the headline "Jennifer Lawrence Hopes You Won't Hate Her New Project."

The brand's launch date had been set for 27 October. Yahoo Entertainment, citing earlier reporting from 19 October, said Mes would sell through its website, mesbeauty.com.

Lawrence is one of the best-known film stars of the past two decades, so a product line from her draws attention. The three-product launch is a small one, and the company's first customers will decide how far it goes. For now, the news is simple: a new haircare brand has arrived, built with a scientist, and its founder has said plainly that money was not the reason she started it.
