Netflix Releases Trailer for Six-Part Pride and Prejudice Series

Netflix has released the trailer for its Pride and Prejudice series, a six-part limited series. A limited series is a show told in one set run of episodes, with no plan for more seasons. Netflix's Tudum site gives the premiere date as 3 December.
The series adapts Jane Austen's 1813 novel. Emma Corrin plays Elizabeth Bennet, and Jack Lowden plays Mr Darcy. Dolly Alderton wrote the series, Euros Lyn directs it, and Lisa Osborne produces it.
The supporting cast is large, and most of the famous family from the book is accounted for. Olivia Colman plays Mrs Bennet and Rufus Sewell plays Mr Bennet. Freya Mavor is Jane Bennet, and Hopey Parish is Mary. Hollie Avery plays Kitty, and Rhea Norwood plays Lydia.
Outside the family, Jamie Demetriou plays Mr Collins, and Daryl McCormack plays Mr Bingley. Louis Partridge is Mr Wickham. Siena Kelly plays Caroline Bingley, and Fiona Shaw plays Lady Catherine de Bourgh.
Netflix first gave viewers a look in March, with a teaser video of Corrin and Lowden in character. That short clip showed Elizabeth Bennet sitting on a rooftop, daydreaming about her love story with Mr Darcy. The new trailer is the longer preview ahead of the December release.
Netflix lists the show under the genres Romantic TV Dramas, Based on Books and Period Pieces. The novel follows the five Bennet sisters while their family looks for suitable marriages. The new series keeps that setting, and its six episodes will reach viewers all at once, as is usual for Netflix's full-season releases.
