Paddington The Musical has extended its run at the Savoy Theatre in London further into 2028, and a new cast has started performances. WhatsOnStage reported the news on 29 October 2026.

The show is based on A Bear Called Paddington by Michael Bond and on the Paddington film, and it is presented by arrangement with StudioCanal, the company that controls the film rights. Tom Fletcher wrote the lyrics, Jessica Swale wrote the book (the spoken story that runs between the songs), and Luke Sheppard directs.

The production has won 7 Olivier Awards, the main prizes for London theatre, which are run by the Society of London Theatre. It has also won 9 WhatsOnStage Awards.

Two performers now share the title role on stage. Abbie Purvis and Hassan Taj alternate as Paddington. Sonny Monaghan plays the Young Man and also covers the bear's voice and remote puppetry, the work of operating a puppet from offstage.

The rest of the company includes Cassidy Janson as Millicent Clyde and Marc Pickering as Mr Curry. Haydn Oakley plays Mr Brown and Charlotte Wakefield plays Mrs Brown, while Linzi Hateley is Mrs Bird. Tarinn Callender returns as Grant, and Teddy Kempner returns as Mr Gruber.

Two actors alternate the role of Judy Brown: Poppy Houghton and Francesca Ratcliffe. Four actors share Jonathan Brown: Charlie Dean, Arlo Drage, Oliver Goodman and Finn Leonard. Freya Rose is the standby Paddington on stage, meaning she is ready to step in at short notice if a performer cannot appear.

The Savoy Theatre is at Savoy Court, Strand, London WC2R 0ET. It sits in the West End, the central London district where the large commercial theatres are concentrated. Tickets and performance times are listed on the show's official website.

For regular theatregoers, the news is that the show has more months of performances booked than it did before. The new cast members are the next group to take the stage in the roles they play.
