Grand Theft Auto VI is the cover story of the November 2026 issue of Edge magazine, which went on sale on 29 October 2026. The issue, numbered Edge 430, takes readers inside Rockstar North, the Edinburgh studio that makes the series.

Rockstar North employs around 900 people in the Scottish capital, according to Edge's cover feature. The studio's building was once home to The Scotsman newspaper. Visitors entering the lobby face a floor-to-ceiling mural, which includes the slogan "PARANOIA IS GOOD."

Rob Nelson is co-studio head of Rockstar North and its head of development. Grand Theft Auto is an open-world series, meaning players can roam a large game world at their own pace rather than follow a fixed path. Its games have long mixed crime stories with driving, shooting and wider city life.

The feature also describes some of the game's characters and systems. Protagonists Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos share a small apartment.

Police pursuits are one area of detail. According to Polygon, pursuits involve a police K9 unit, meaning a unit of police dogs. The dogs are Alsatians, a breed also known as the German shepherd. Polygon reports that during one chase, a police Alsatian jumps on Jason and pins him to the ground.

For players, the details offer a glimpse of how the game's police and city will feel.

Edge is a monthly magazine, so the November issue is the one carrying this feature. Readers who want the full cover story will need a copy of that issue.
