Simon Helberg, Molly Shannon and Lucas Hedges Join Elsbeth Season 4 as Guest Stars
Simon Helberg, Molly Shannon and Lucas Hedges are guest-starring in season 4 of Elsbeth, the CBS legal drama. A guest star is an actor who appears in some episodes without being part of the regular cast. Deadline reported the three casting moves on 29 October 2026.
Helberg plays Briggs Potter, a devoted Revolutionary War reenactor. His place in the group is under threat from a new recruit. Shannon plays Patty Prince, the creator of a female superhero who is close to becoming a major star. Hedges plays "Data" Stevens, the founder and chief executive of a prediction market, which is a platform where people trade on the outcome of future events.
Carrie Preston stars as Elsbeth Tascioni, the lawyer at the centre of the show. Wendell Pierce plays Captain C.W. Wagner. CBS Studios produces the series.
The season has also brought other guest names. Paramount+ listed Nicole Scherzinger, Nicholas Braun and Jemima Kirke as guest stars in a season preview published on 9 October 2026. A CBS Facebook post from 8 October 2026 said Julia Fox makes a guest appearance this season.
New episodes air on Thursday nights at 9/8 Central on CBS, the network's main broadcast channel. Episodes also stream on Paramount+, the subscription service owned by the same company. The season is already on air, so viewers can follow the new arrivals week by week.
Guest casting is a steady part of a long-running show's year. A familiar face in a single episode can bring in new viewers, and a recurring role can turn into a larger part later. Neither Deadline nor the network has said how many episodes the three new actors will appear in.
