Tovah Feldshuh Says Tensions on Nobody Wants This Are Not Rising

Tovah Feldshuh says there are no rising tensions on the set of Nobody Wants This. She made that point in a Threads post on Friday, Oct. 30, responding to reports of a cast feud tied to the Israel-Palestine conflict.
The post, from her account @tovahfeld, reads in part: "Tensions are NOT RISING. Profound differences of opinion are." She added: "Please do not conflate the two. And none of it will be brought to the set." The post went up at 10:47 p.m. that night and drew 94 replies.
Feldshuh, 77, plays Bina, the mother of Adam Brody's character, Noah, across all three seasons of the Netflix comedy. The show follows an agnostic podcast host and a rabbi on the rebound who meet at a party. In her post, Feldshuh said she deeply enjoys making the show and hopes it is picked up for a fourth season.
The reports grew out of public disagreement. A Variety column published Oct. 28 described Brody, co-star Erin Foster and Feldshuh as having publicly disagreed on Israel in connection with the series. Brody told GQ in a September profile: "Put me down as thinking it's a genocide. Put me down as wanting a free Palestine."
Feldshuh has also spoken out. Earlier this month she told the New York Post that accusing Jewish people of genocide is "wild" and "right out of [Adolf] Hitler's playbook."
Entertainment outlet EW reported that Feldshuh denied rising tensions between herself and Brody. In her Threads post, she framed the disagreement as a matter of opinion, not conflict on set.
Feldshuh's post is the latest in a run of public statements from the cast about the war. Her post separated two things: the views the actors hold, and the day-to-day work they do together. She asked readers not to merge them.
For now, the pieces are these. Feldshuh says the set is calm and the cast disagrees on politics. She says she wants to keep working on the show. The show's future beyond its current seasons has not been announced.
