Blumhouse and Atomic Monster Adopt Shared Name: Blumhouse Atomic

Jason Blum and James Wan have given their two horror companies a shared name. The umbrella title, Blumhouse Atomic, was announced on 3 November 2026, according to Variety. Blum and Wan are the co-founders of the new company.
The two studios are not folding into one brand for everyday use. Blumhouse and Atomic Monster will keep working as separate production labels under the Blumhouse Atomic name. The companies merged in 2024, and the new title is the outward sign of that partnership.
The numbers behind the pairing are large. The combined Blumhouse and Atomic Monster banners have generated more than $2.5 billion in worldwide box office, meaning total ticket sales in every country where their films played. Their combined production budgets came to less than $330 million, Variety reports.
This year has been a busy one. In 2026, Blumhouse Atomic earned $1.3 billion at the box office, driven by Curry Barker's Obsession and Kane Parsons' Backrooms. The companies released 10 films in 2026, seven in cinemas and three straight-to-digital, meaning they went directly to home streaming and rental services without a cinema run, CFO Brew reported on 23 October 2026.
The next year is already on the calendar. The 2027 slate includes River, The Revenge of La Llorona, The Exorcist: Martyrs, Anything But Ghosts, Paranormal Activity, Molepeople, Blair Witch, Sleepover and Seasons. Paramount and Blumhouse Atomic Monster have dated Molepeople for a summer 2027 cinema release, and it is directed by Rob Savage, TheWrap reported in October.
Separately, Focus Features and the Blumhouse-Atomic Monster partnership have acquired the rights to Play House, according to a Yahoo Entertainment report from 9 October 2026.
For anyone who buys a ticket, the new name may matter less than the titles on the list. A studio name rarely appears on a poster in big letters, but it shapes which films get made, when they arrive and where they play. Blumhouse Atomic now has a single banner over two production labels, and the 2027 dates will show how that works in practice.
