Sensor Tower Estimates GTA 6 Pre-Purchases Near 7.7 Million

Sensor Tower estimates that Grand Theft Auto VI has sold 7.71 million units through pre-purchases, orders paid for before the game comes out. The company's unofficial figures, reported by GameSpot on 4 November 2026, put the gross revenue at about US$751 million. Gross revenue is the total taken before storefronts and platforms keep their share of each sale.
Most of those orders are on PlayStation 5. Sensor Tower estimates 5.74 million units on PS5, or 74% of the total, worth about US$559 million. Xbox Series X|S accounts for an estimated 1.97 million units, or 26%, worth about US$192 million. Sony holds the marketing rights for the game on PS5.
The launch date is set. GTA 6 comes out on November 19 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, a little over two weeks after these figures were published. The download is about 212GB, which is large enough to fill a good share of many consoles' storage.
Sensor Tower also projects as many as 25 million total pre-purchases by launch. The company gives no timetable for when that total would be reached.
Earlier in the autumn, Sensor Tower estimated that GTA 6 had been pre-ordered 6.08 million times as of October 13, 2026.
Interest also shows up in surveys. Circana, a market research firm, reports that 29% of US console and PC gamers say they intend to buy GTA 6. Purchase intent is a survey measure of who plans to buy, which is different from who has already paid.
Sensor Tower's GTA 6 Sales Tracker updates estimates of pre-orders, copies sold and revenue worldwide, and compares PlayStation and Xbox sales. Anyone following the game's sales will have to wait for official figures, or for later tracker updates, to see how the totals move closer to November 19.
