Sarah Ferguson has returned to live in the UK and is renting a six-bedroom home in the Home Counties, the ring of counties around London, Hello magazine reported on 4 November 2026.

According to that report, Ferguson is busy relocating and going through around 40 years of boxes. A spokesperson said she is focused on the present and has no big plans beyond her health, her family and rebuilding her life in a new home. The spokesperson did not give a timetable for the move.

Ferguson turned 67 on 15 October. She married Prince Andrew in 1986, and the two are divorced. Buckingham Palace said in a statement in October 2025 that he would be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. Hello reports that Ferguson was told to leave Royal Lodge in Windsor, the home Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor held a lease on, last year.

The same report says Ferguson attended a memorial service for her former boyfriend Paddy McNally at St Paul's Church in Knightsbridge, London. Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, her daughters, were there too. She was accompanied by Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, Jack Brooksbank and Peter Phillips.

Her name has also been linked with the royal family's Christmas Day walk at Sandringham in Norfolk. Ferguson and Andrew joined the walk in 2023, her first time in more than 30 years. Neither attended in 2024 or 2025, according to the same report.

Some of her past ties have been difficult. Hello reports that several charities dropped her over her friendship with the American financier Jeffrey Epstein, after it was revealed she had called him her "supreme friend".

Other outlets have covered her move in recent months. In August, the BBC reported, citing a source, that she was expected back in the UK "shortly". Express published a report on 3 November saying she had returned quietly to start again, and that she refuses to sever ties with Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. Earlier, Hello reported in February 2026 that Ferguson is not welcome at Andrew's home. Hello also reported in July 2026 that Andrew had settled in Norfolk, where he has been seen on solitary drives and dog walks.
