Peacock will not make a third season of its Saved by the Bell reboot, ending the show after two seasons. Deadline reported the decision on 4 November 2026.

The reboot arrived on Peacock in 2020, developed by Tracey Wigfield. Peacock picked it up to series as part of its 2020-21 slate, meaning the streaming service ordered full episodes without shooting a pilot first. Mario Lopez and Elizabeth Berkley Lauren led the cast, with John Michael Higgins, Haskiri Velazquez, Mitchell Hoog, Josie Totah, Alycia Pascual-Peña, Belmont Cameli and Dexter Darden also starring.

The original series ran on Saturday mornings from 1989 to 1993. Mark-Paul Gosselaar played Zack Morris, the show's scheming class clown. In the reboot, Zack is now the governor. Tiffani Thiessen and Lark Voorhies returned as guest stars, playing Kelly Kapowski and Lisa Turtle. Gosselaar also worked behind the camera, credited as a producer, and appeared throughout both seasons.

Gosselaar spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the ending while promoting a partnership with AstraZeneca. He said he was upset with NBC over the cancellation. He also called the decision premature, especially for Peacock, and said the reboot had helped expose the service and bring people to it.

Gosselaar has kept busy since. He guest-starred in HBO's Barry after the reboot ended. He has a recurring role as Paul Campano on ABC's Will Trent. In 2023 he starred in NBC's Found as Hugh "Sir" Evans, a show that was canceled after two seasons.

For viewers, the news closes the book on a revival that brought back a familiar cast and a familiar setting. Anyone who wanted to see where Zack and the gang ended up now has two seasons to watch, and no more on the way from Peacock.
