Nicolas Cage and Christian Bale walked the red carpet at the world premiere of Madden, Prime Video's film about the football coach and broadcaster John Madden. Deadline's photo gallery of the night was published on 5 November 2026.

Cage plays Madden himself. Bale plays Al Davis, the late owner of the Oakland Raiders, the team Madden led to the Super Bowl title in 1977, according to Deadline's trailer coverage from September. The two actors are the most-watched names on the poster, and they were the centre of the photographs from the premiere.

The guest list ran well beyond the lead pair. Deadline's gallery shows Kathryn Hahn, Sienna Miller and John Mulaney, all of whom were first announced as cast members in April 2025 in a report by Deadline. Comedian Shane Gillis also attended, along with director David O. Russell. Former players Michael Strahan, Marshawn Lynch and Julian Edelman were on the carpet too, and members of Madden's family were there.

The film has a set date for cinemas. Amazon MGM Studios says Madden will play in select theatres on 18 November 2026. A limited cinema run like that is a short stretch of big-screen showings, usually weeks, before a film reaches home viewers. The studio also classes Madden as an Original Movie, its label for films made for its own streaming service rather than bought from another company.

That makes 18 November a date to watch. It puts the film in cinemas ahead of the holiday weeks, when studios often push their biggest titles. Amazon MGM Studios has not given a figure for how many screens will show it, and no box-office estimate exists yet.

For fans of Madden, the premiere offers a first look at how the film has turned the man who once coached the Raiders and later called NFL games into a character on screen. Madden's family and several former players were in the room. For everyone else, the story is simpler: a sports legend's life is heading to cinemas, and a few famous faces came out to see it begin.
