David O. Russell's film Madden will stream worldwide on Prime Video on November 18, the platform confirmed on 6 August 2026 (Deadline).

The film stars Nicolas Cage as legendary NFL coach and broadcaster John Madden, with Christian Bale as his best friend Al Davis, the longtime owner of the Oakland Raiders (Deadline). Kathryn Hahn plays Madden's wife, Virginia. The ensemble also includes Sienna Miller, John Mulaney, and Shane Gillis.

Russell co-wrote the screenplay with Cambron Clark. The film is an Amazon MGM Studios feature, produced by Escape Artists, ShowKat, Dreamcrew Entertainment, and Corazon Camera, in association with Skydance Sports and NFL Films. Producers are Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, Steve Tisch, Jonathan Shukat, Russell himself, Matthew Budman, and Colin Wilson. The November 18 streaming date puts the film on Prime Video roughly one week ahead of the US Thanksgiving holiday on 26 November, giving it a full runway into the weekend when American football and family viewing collide.

For a streaming title, the producing roster is unusually layered. NFL Films' involvement means access to league archives and footage. Skydance Sports, a joint venture focused on sports-content production, adds another layer of institutional backing. The project pairs that sports infrastructure with Russell's ensemble-driven filmmaking style and a cast that crosses comedy, drama, and prestige — Mulaney and Gillis from the stand-up world, Hahn from prestige television, Bale from a string of transformative dramatic performances, and Cage, whose own career has swung between Academy Award recognition and cult-film intensity.

For Prime Video, Madden lands as a title with built-in audience recognition that cuts across football fans, film audiences, and anyone who has picked up a controller for the Madden NFL game series. Whether it lands all of those audiences at once is a question for November.
