Madonna will release an instrumental version of Confessions II on streaming services on Friday, November 6, with a vinyl edition following on Tuesday, November 10. Billboard reported that the project was announced on Wednesday, November 4.

An instrumental album keeps the music and drops the singing. Listeners hear the beats, synths and arrangements without any vocals, so the same songs can be heard in a different way.

Confessions II is a 16-song sequel to Madonna's 2005 album Confessions on a Dance Floor. She reunited with producer and DJ Stuart Price, who also worked with her on the earlier record. The original Confessions II debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, the chart that ranks the best-selling albums in the United States, on the chart dated July 18. It was her 10th No. 1 album on that chart.

Madonna's official website lists several versions of the new release. The standard 12-track vinyl LP is pressed on translucent red vinyl and presented as a non-stop mix, so the songs run into one another without breaks. The 16-track standard CD is also presented as a continuous mix, and it includes a collaboration between Madonna and Sabrina Carpenter.

The store also lists a Barnes & Noble exclusive edition, a Cover Tee Numbered 2LP Bundle that pairs a numbered double vinyl set with a t-shirt, and a Neon Tee Deluxe CD Bundle. A separate Confessions II: Grindr Edition is listed as available only from Madonna's official store. Each format is a separate product, with its own track count and packaging.

Behind every physical pressing is a run of factory slots, freight bookings and shop orders. A vinyl release is also a fixed date in a warehouse calendar, so the November 10 pressing date matters to shops and distributors as much as to fans. For a listener, though, the change is simpler: the same songs, with the voices taken out.
