Teri Hatcher is playing Miranda Priestly, the demanding magazine editor, in The Devil Wears Prada at London's Dominion Theatre. She is scheduled to appear in the role until 6 February 2027, according to WhatsOnStage.

The part previously belonged to Vanessa Williams, who gave her final performance as Miranda on 19 September 2026. Williams is Hatcher's co-star from Desperate Housewives, and the two share a friendship. Hatcher spoke about the role, the comparisons people draw with the character, and that friendship in a WhatsOnStage interview published on 5 November.

The musical has now marked its second anniversary in the West End. It began at Theatre Royal Plymouth in summer 2024 and moved to the Dominion later that year. A transfer means a production leaves its original venue and moves into a commercial theatre in the West End, London's main theatre district.

The show is based on Lauren Weisberger's 2003 novel and the 2006 film. It follows Andy, an aspiring journalist who takes a job at Runway magazine working for its formidable editor-in-chief, Miranda Priestly. The music is by Elton John, the lyrics are by Shaina Taub and Mark Sonnenblick, and the book is by Kate Wetherhead. Jerry Mitchell directs and choreographs.

The West End cast includes Jenna Bonner as Andy, Taila Halford as Emily, Matt Henry as Nigel, Dean Makowski-Clayton as Nate and Dominic Andersen as Christian. Debbie Kurup is first standby for Miranda. A standby is the performer trained to step in when the lead cannot go on.

Hatcher is best known to television audiences for playing Susan Mayer in Desperate Housewives. She also appeared in the James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies. Her West End run is her first major stage role in London, and it places her in one of the busiest musical theatre houses in the capital.

For theatregoers, the cast change is the most visible shift. Anyone booking for the coming months will see Hatcher's name on the bill for the Dominion's Miranda performances, with Kurup as cover.
