Nicholas Galitzine is in final negotiations to play Ichabod Crane in Hollow, a Sony Pictures film opposite Sydney Sweeney, according to Deadline, which reported the talks on 5 November 2026. Final negotiations mean the two sides are close to a deal, but nothing has been signed yet.

The film is a reimagining of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, told from the point of view of Katrina Van Tassel. Sweeney plays Katrina. In the original story, Ichabod Crane is the schoolmaster who courts her, so the new film turns the spotlight onto the woman at the centre of the old tale. Belmont Cameli also stars.

Hollow is based on a debut novel by Lindsey Anderson Beer, which Putnam, an imprint of Penguin Random House, will publish in fall 2027. An imprint is a publisher's own label inside a larger company. Beer is attached to direct the film and adapt her book for the screen, and she is producing through her Lab Brew banner.

Sweeney is producing as well, through her Honey Trap banner together with LuckyChap. For Honey Trap, this is its first film as a producer. Kaylee McGregor serves as the company's President of Production and Development. Honey Trap recently announced a first-look deal with Sony Pictures, which typically gives the studio the first chance to develop and buy projects from a producer.

The film's path shows how a single project can come together from several directions at once. A novel, its author, a star who is also a producer, a production company and a major studio are all now linked to one title. Each piece was a separate decision made by a separate group of people.

For now, Galitzine's casting remains in negotiation. The deal will become official once both sides sign.
