Flávio Bolsonaro, speaking from Miami, will not detail how he left Brazil

Speaking from Miami, Brazilian senator Flávio Bolsonaro was asked how he left Brazil and replied, "How I got here, I'll take that to the grave with me." The remark was reported by The New York Times.
The Times said he was doubling down on claims it described as unfounded about his departure. He said the plan to leave was spontaneously decided with his wife.
Bolsonaro, a former presidential candidate, was defeated in the runoff, the final round of voting, by Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. According to The Associated Press, he fled Brazil with his family and landed in Miami.
Reuters reported that he travelled through Argentina and Ecuador before reaching Miami. He arrived at Opa-locka Executive Airport, near the city.
Brazil's Supreme Court had ordered him to surrender his passports before leaving the country. Reuters reported that he refused to comply with that order.
