The Voice is launching its first companion show on TikTok Live, the app's real-time streaming feature. Josh "Bru" Brubaker will host it, The Hollywood Reporter reported on Nov. 5.

A companion show is a second programme that runs alongside the main series, usually with behind-the-scenes talk and extra material. This one goes live on Monday, Nov. 9, and streams weekly on Mondays.

Each stream starts 20 minutes before the televised episode and carries on through the broadcast. That gives viewers a run-up to each show as well as a chance to talk about it afterwards. The companion show will stream only on the official Voice TikTok account, so it will not appear on the broadcast schedule.

The stream is set to run through the season 30 finale on Dec. 14. Its format includes interviews with the show's artists and coaches. The season 30 coaches are Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson, Queen Latifah and Riley Green.

Brubaker brings a large following to the job. He has more than 5 million followers across platforms, according to the same report. He also hosts The Bru Show on weekdays on Audacy pop radio stations.

For viewers, the change is about where the extra material lives. Fans who follow The Voice on TikTok will find the companion show in the same app they already use. Those who only watch the main broadcast will need to check the Voice account to catch it.

The show is one of several ways that TV series now spread across social apps. Programmes increasingly add live streams, short clips and host-led chats that run before or after a broadcast. This companion show follows that pattern, with a fixed weekly slot and a clear end date.
