Travis Kelce Says His First Married Christmas Starts When the Tree Goes Up
Travis Kelce says his first Christmas as a married man will begin the moment the tree goes up. The NFL tight end told WWD on November 5, 2026: "I start celebrating as that tree goes up."
Kelce married pop singer Taylor Swift in July. The wedding took place in New York City, and this will be the couple's first holiday season as husbands and wives. Kelce said he is "excited for my first holiday as a married man," and added that he loves the old traditions but "can't wait to start some new ones," according to Billboard.
One of the old traditions he named is simple. His mother bakes blueberry muffins at Christmas, and Kelce counts them among his favourite parts of the season.
Kelce is also the face of a holiday advertising campaign. He stars in Tommy Hilfiger's seasonal push alongside JISOO of the K-pop group BLACKPINK and Josh Hart, a player for the New York Knicks basketball team. The campaign is called The Perfect Holiday, according to Yahoo Entertainment. Kelce discussed the work with WWD on the same day he spoke about his plans for the season.
Swift has a long history with the season. She released a holiday EP in 2007 with original songs including "Christmases When You Were Mine" and "Christmas Must Be Something More." In 2019 she put out the seasonal single "Christmas Tree Farm," which reached No. 59 on the Billboard Hot 100, the weekly chart that ranks the most popular songs in the United States.
Kelce did not say what the couple's new traditions will be. For now, he has pointed to the tree as the starting line.
