Taylor Kitsch, Alexandra Daddario and Christopher Walken Set for True-Crime Thriller The Long Island Bank Robber

Taylor Kitsch, Alexandra Daddario and Christopher Walken are set to star in The Long Island Bank Robber, a true-crime thriller, Deadline reported on 6 November 2026.
Kitsch will play Stephen Trantel, a Wall Street commodities trader. Commodities traders buy and sell raw materials such as oil, metals and crops. After Trantel is fired, he turns to robbing banks on Long Island, the island just east of New York City.
Daddario will play Jeanne Trantel, Stephen's wife. Walken will play Stephen's father, a retired police officer. The family relationships sit at the centre of the story, which is built around a conflict between a man who loses his career and the people closest to him.
Matthew Gentile will direct the film. He co-wrote the screenplay with Bianca Vera, and the story is based on the book 'Til Heist Do Us Part by Jeanne Callahan and Michael Harvey.
Production is set to begin in New Jersey in November 2026. That puts the shoot on a short timetable, with cameras expected to roll this month.
Vaneast Pictures has acquired worldwide sales rights to the film. Sales rights let a company offer a finished or near-finished movie to distributors in each country, who then pay to show it in cinemas, on television or on streaming services. Vaneast will take the project to buyers ahead of the American Film Market, the trade fair where independent films are shown and sold before they reach audiences.
The film is being produced by Vince Jolivette and Richie Hill of Filmopoly, Chris Bellant of Vision Entertainment, and Danielle Gasher of Vaneast Pictures.
Selling a film's rights before shooting starts is one way independent projects find backers and buyers early. It also gives distributors a chance to decide where the film might play before it is complete. Whether the film reaches cinemas or a streaming service will be decided once it is finished and sold.
