Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds started its second year of content on 3 November 2026, adding a one-on-one race mode, new characters and gadgets. PlayStation Blog announced the launch the same day.

The new mode is called Duel Mode. Players race against a single opponent. GameSpot reports that it is built to feel different from the game's standard races, which take up to 12 players. Duel Mode is a smaller, head-to-head contest, and the pace of a two-racer race is not the same as a full field.

The biggest visual change is a bundle of classic Sega hardware. The SEGA Consoles Pack is available from 3 November 2026, according to SEGA. It counts as Bonus Content 2 of Season Pass 2. A season pass is a paid add-on that delivers extra content in batches after a game launches. The pack includes three vehicles: a Genesis tower in its US form, a Sega Saturn in its Japanese form, and a Dreamcast.

Each vehicle takes its shape from the console behind it. PlayStation Blog explains that the designers translated hardware features into the cars rather than copying the machines outright. The Dreamcast has a rounded form and a distinctive colour scheme. The Genesis and Saturn have angular silhouettes and quieter tones. Rounded hardware shapes became the fenders and nose sections of the Sega vehicles.

Year Two also brings new characters and gadgets, which the PlayStation Blog lists alongside Duel Mode. The game itself is described by SEGA as a racing adventure in which Travel Rings carry Sonic into the multiverse. For players who grew up with these consoles, the pack offers a way to drive them through the game's tracks. Anyone else can still follow the story of the update: a new mode, a new set of racers, and three machines from Sega's past.
