GTA 6 Owners Can Upgrade to the US$100 Edition for US$20

Rockstar Games is selling a US$20 upgrade that moves Grand Theft Auto VI buyers from the US$80 Standard Edition to the US$100 Ultimate Edition. The game launches on November 19, 2026.
The upgrade is a digital add-on. Rockstar Games' support article says Standard Edition owners can buy it through the PlayStation and Microsoft storefronts. Physical Standard Edition owners can buy it once their code has been redeemed. The upgrade is also available with the code-in-a-box physical edition.
The game is available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, in digital and physical form. The physical copy has no disc. The box holds a download code, and the game is installed from that code. Physical copies go on sale on November 12, which is the date set to support pre-loading. Pre-loading lets players download the game before it unlocks. For digital pre-orders, it starts on November 10 at local midnight.
Rockstar says the game is 212GB. That is a large download, so players with limited storage may want to plan ahead. The game officially unlocks at midnight local time on November 19.
The US$100 edition is not sold in shops. It adds vehicles, weapons and clothing for the player's character. Its extra items come in as the story moves on, with new ones opening behind each chapter. Buyers also get three businesses that are exclusive to that edition: a hair salon called Sara's Unisex Hair Salon, a tattoo parlour and a mod shop.
Every pre-order, whatever the edition, comes with The Vintage Vice City Pack and one month of GTA+. GTA+ is Rockstar's paid membership service, which offers extra rewards in its games. Rockstar also says that a free printable cover art poster and a map of Leonida, the game's fictional setting, will be available as digital downloads on November 19.
Codes are region-locked. The region that counts is the one linked to the player's platform account, not where they happen to be. Anyone buying a code should check that their account region matches the code they plan to redeem.
Grand Theft Auto VI is a single-player game. Players who want the most in-game extras will need to decide between the two editions before launch day. For everyone else, the first step is simple. Check the platform's store or the support page, pick the edition, and set aside 212GB for the download.
