DAZN Becomes Exclusive Streaming Home of YES Network and MSG Networks as Gotham Sports App Shuts Down

New York sports fans who stream the Yankees, Knicks, Rangers, and Nets will soon be watching through a different app. DAZN has struck a deal with MSG Networks and the YES Network to become the exclusive direct-to-consumer streaming home of their channels, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The arrangement takes effect with the 2026-27 NBA and NHL seasons.

As part of the transition, the Gotham Sports app — the current streaming platform for these regional sports networks — will be sunsetted. Current Gotham Sports subscribers will continue to receive uninterrupted access to the content they already pay for, per a press release issued on 29 July 2026.

DAZN will carry 24/7 feeds of MSG, MSG Sportsnet, and YES. MSG Networks' channels cover the New York Knicks, New York Rangers, New York Islanders, New Jersey Devils, and Buffalo Sabres. YES Network is the home of the New York Yankees and Brooklyn Nets.

For cable subscribers who already receive MSG and/or YES through their pay-TV package, nothing changes financially: they will continue to get that content via DAZN at no additional cost. The shift mainly affects cord-cutters — viewers who stream without a traditional cable subscription.

The pricing structure under DAZN will be consistent with what Gotham Sports charged, according to a source with knowledge of the plans. Under the outgoing app, YES Network access alone cost $209.99 per year, or $19.99 per month. MSG access ran $279.99 per year, or $29.99 monthly. A combined YES and MSG package was priced at $299.99 per year, or $34.99 per month.

DAZN will also offer on-demand content, including game highlights, behind-the-scenes material, and original series.

DAZN, a British company led by CEO Shay Segev, launched in the United States in 2018 and has built its business around live sports streaming. The deal brings some of the most-watched regional sports content in the American market under its roof. YES Network, whose president and CEO is Jon Litner, carries one of Major League Baseball's most-followed franchises alongside an NBA team with a large Brooklyn fanbase.

The two companies already have a working relationship. MSG Networks has announced it will televise the Golden Boy DAZN Thursday Night Fights series, a new monthly boxing programme from Golden Boy and DAZN that brings live boxing to viewers throughout the New York metro area.

For fans, the practical impact is straightforward. The app on their phone or TV changes. The teams they watch do not. The price they pay is expected to stay the same. And for cable subscribers, the bill carries on as before — the games just arrive through a different pipe.
