Jay Baruchel Joins Reacher Season 5 as Series Adds Four New Cast Members

Jay Baruchel has been cast in Reacher Season 5, joining Amazon's action series as Chief Buck Bauer, according to Deadline. The role puts him opposite Alan Ritchson, who stars as the title character and serves as an executive producer on the current season.
Three more actors round out the Season 5 additions. Kevin Durand will play Nokes, Amanda Ip takes on Michelle Chang, and Ciara Bravo has been cast as Eunice. All four castings were reported by Deadline on 29 July 2026.
Season 5 draws its story from Make Me, the 20th novel in Lee Child's Jack Reacher book series. In that book, Reacher stops in a small town called Mother's Rest, teams up with a private investigator to search for a missing person, and uncovers a criminal conspiracy underneath the quiet surface.
The news lands less than two weeks before Reacher Season 4 premieres on Wednesday, 12 August. That season features its own ensemble of new faces alongside Ritchson: Sydelle Noel, Chris Marquette, AGNEZ MO, Anggun, Kevin Weisman, Marc Blucas, Kevin Corrigan, and Kathleen Robertson. Executive producers for Season 4 include Don Granger, Scott Sullivan, Mick Betancourt, Lisa Kussner, Sam Hill, Amy Pocha, and Seth Cohen.
Nick Santora serves as the series' writer, showrunner, and executive producer — meaning he oversees the writers' room and the day-to-day creative decisions. Paramount Television Studios and Amazon MGM Studios produce.
Baruchel's connection to the Reacher world goes back further than this announcement. A June 2025 Deadline article listed him among eight cast additions for Season 4, though the latest report places him firmly in the Season 5 lineup as Chief Buck Bauer.
For fans, the casting news means the Reacher machine keeps moving forward on multiple tracks at once. Season 4 is ready to reach audiences in August. Season 5 is already staffing up.
